Biostimulators
Biostimulators are collagen-stimulating injectables. Biostimulator treatments preserve the volume of the face and the intrinsic ability of the cells to produce collagen. Collagen production naturally slows down as we age, and this results in sagging skin and deep wrinkles. The goal of these treatments is to stimulate the fibroblasts to produce NEW collagen which will increase skin thickness and elasticity as it replenishes lost volume. There are two types of biostimulators available for non-surgical jawline enhancement:
Lipodissolve
Lipodissolve is another type of injectable that can be used separately or in combination with biostimulators. Lipodissolve is designed to eliminate submental fat beneath the chin (also known as a double chin). Dissolving this unwanted fat enhances the definition of your jaw and improves the look of a receding chin. It’s a great alternative to surgical procedures like liposuction.
Sculptra
Sculptra is made from poly-L lactic acid (PLLA). This biocompatible ingredient stimulates collagen production to restore age-related volume loss and augment areas of the face like the cheekbones, jawline, and hollow temples. It is also used for non-surgical buttock augmentation. When injected along the jawline, Sculptra builds structure in the deep skin layers for long-lasting, natural-looking results. During your treatment, Sculptra can also be injected into the cheeks to fill in nasolabial folds (laugh lines) and lift sunken cheeks.
Radiesse
Radiesse is another type of biostimulator made with calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA). The calcium spheres in the formula immediately plump the skin and then break down naturally in the skin. As they break down, collagen is stimulated, and results will continue to improve for a few weeks after treatment. At our office, Radiesse is combined with hyaluronic acid in our signature Radiant HA treatment. The results are added volume and glowing, beautiful skin!
Nefertiti Neck Lift with Neuromodulators
The Nefertiti Neck Lift is an innovative procedure that uses botulinum toxin injectables to smooth vertical necklines and improve wrinkling and mild skin laxity on the lower face. Botulinum toxin temporarily blocks nerve signals to the muscles, relaxing them and preventing contractions. For the Botox Nefertiti Neck Lift, the platysma muscles or vertical neck bands are targeted. We offer two types of neuromodulators that can be used for your non-surgical neck lift:
Botox
Botox is the original botulinum toxin product and it has remained a popular choice since its FDA approval in 1989. In combination with your Nefertiti Neck Lift, Botox can also be used to smooth fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes (crow’s feet), glabellar lines or frown lines between the brows, bunny lines on the nose, and more!
Dysport
Dysport is a newer neuromodulator that is FDA-approved for the treatment of vertical forehead lines and frown lines. It has a thinner formula than Botox, giving it the ability to spread more easily in a larger treatment area. Although the Nefertiti Neck Lift is considered an off-label use, we have found it to be a safe and effective option for many patients.
BTL Emface
BTL Emface combines radiofrequency energy and electromagnetic pulses into one innovative device. Radiofrequency energy stimulates collagen production to firm the skin and restore volume while electromagnetic pulses stimulate involuntary muscle contractions to tone the muscles and lift sagging tissues along the jawline. This is all done non-invasively in a 20-minute treatment session.
PDO Threads
PDO threads (polydioxanone threads) are biodegradable surgical sutures that can be inserted under the skin to lift sagging tissues and smooth wrinkles on the surface. This is accomplished with a combination of barbed threads and non-barbed or smooth threads. The threads can be inserted under the chin and in the neck area to lift and tighten loose neck skin with immediate and gradual improvements. Gradual improvements are accomplished by collagen stimulation as the threads dissolve and results can be seen for a total of 8 months or more.
