What Are Perfecto PDO Threads?
The PDO thread lift is an FDA-approved treatment that we use for non-surgical facial rejuvenation. PDO threads come in barbed or smooth options, depending on your treatment goals. These threads are made from p-dioxane (PDO), a substance that is safely broken down in the body to stimulate collagen production. Collagen is a protein naturally found in the skin and it gives your skin firmness and volume. Since collagen production slows down as we age, a PDO thread lift can slow down the aging clock for long-lasting skin rejuvenation.
How Do Perfecto PDO Threads Work for an Eyebrow Lift?
The PDO thread brow lift is performed at our office by cosmetic surgeons who have the knowledge and expertise to effectively perform this non-surgical treatment. A topical anesthetic will be applied to the treatment area to maximize your comfort and then Dr. Mercado will mark the treatment area. For a lift, the threads will be inserted just above the tails of the eyebrows using a small hollow needle. Once inserted under the skin, the PDO threads pull back the skin for a lifted, more angular brow shape.
Recovery From Perfecto PDO Thread Brow Lift
One of the main benefits of a PDO thread lift is the minimal recovery time. Injection site bruising, swelling, and mild soreness is common but will subside within a few days. Avoid facial massages and strenuous activity for 2 weeks after treatment and apply an ice pack as needed to alleviate discomfort and minimize swelling. You can expect the results of your PDO thread lift to last 6-8 months, but some patients have seen the effects for up to a year!
