Acne/ Scar Treatments

Our doctors inject CO2 gas with a very small needle inside the scar itself to improve circulation and proper healing. There is no downtime and typically a series of treatments is recommended. Treatments are done twice a week for a period of approximately 9 weeks.

Red Light Therapy:

Our doctors perform this a painless procedure by applying red light directly to the scar to decrease redness, pigment abnormalities and enhance the absorption of any products such as stretch mark cream.

Medical Microdermabrasion:

Our doctors use this treatment for hypertrophic scars by exfoliating the thick epidermis on top of the scar, sanding it to the level of the normal skin. Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure that uses a highly controlled spray of fine aluminum oxide crystals to gently abrade the outer layer of skin, revealing the younger, tighter, and more radiant skin underneath. Microdermabrasion combined with Chemical Peels (MicroPeels) can bring dramatic results.

Intralesional injection with corticosteroids:

Our doctors can treat keloid scars by injected a long acting corticosteroid into the scar. The injection causes atrophy of the tissue so that scar tissue evens out and blends with the normal tissue.

Laser peel:

Our doctors use a Sciton Laser to resurface scar tissue in a procedure known as the Microlaser peel. The depth of treatment depends on the scar.
